Is my budgie ill?

Question
I placed my budgie's cage near a potted palm plant and he ate some of the leaves. Last night he passed some dark green poop and it messed up his vent area. Since then he has not been eating much and has fluffed up his feathers.  Today he was even shivering. Are the palm leaves toxic? He has stopped passing the green poop now. Will he be ok? Is there anything I can give him to make him feel better. I cant find an avian vet in my area - Kingston Jamaica. Help!!!

Most houseplants are at least mildly toxic for birds. I cannot say if the plant your budgie at was toxic, I would need the scientific name of the plant for that. But it doesn't sound very good. I cannot give any other advice since I have no medical traning and I might just make matters worse.
