VERY aggresive parrot

Question
I have a 5yr old blue front amazon. Recently he has become very aggressive towards me. Flying at me form the top of his cage, biting me, being nasty all the way around. I give him attention daily, good food, play time and he has plenty to play with. A couple of months ago I took the legs off his cage to make him lower than me. It seemed to help with his behavior, I put the legs back on, and the same day he became aggressive already. I am getting to the point where i am scared of him and keeping him in his cage because he is just out of control. Please help if possible. Thanks

Answer
Hi, Jeannie.  Thanks for posting!

I need more information in order to be of any help.

When he starting becoming aggressive, were there any changes in your home, the bird's room, new furniture, new person in the home/someone in the home no longer there, did you move his cage somewhere new, etc.?  Any other birds in the home?  Is this bird bonded to someone else in your home/outside your home?  What type of daily diet is your BFA on.  Why did you put the legs of the cage back on?  Does this bird show aggression toward you at particular times...in other words, does he act this way when your hair is wet or when you wear red or when a certain person is near you, etc.?  Is this bird normally allowed outside his cage all the time (and now you've confined him to his cage)?

The more details you can provide the better I'm able to help.

Thanks.
