caique bite

yesterday and every once in awhile my caique was puffy in the head area....his iris in eyes were little..and all he wanted to do was bite me...hard!!!!!  why do they get that way sometimes??????????......

The flare of feathers (puffy) and pinning of the eyes (getting little) are warnings to keep your distance.

Sometimes they just don't want to be touched.

Just like sometimes you don't feel like doing things, it doesn't mean you'll never want to again, it just means that you're not in the mood at that time.

Your little guy is a very intelligent animal and he makes these decisions now and then, giving you fair warning in the only way he knows.  If you respect that, he'll respect you and keep his beak to himself :)
