nare

ive just recently purchased an idian ringneck parakeet,he/she has a little scab on the nare,its not weeping or causing any discomfort,prob due to being pecked in the avery,would this heal by itself or should we take the bird to the vet? thanks

Give it a couple days, no longer. If it's an injury from the aviary it will heal quickly (birds are amazing in their recovery), but if it's something else (and it could be a number of things) it won't improve and might actually worsen - so have her seen before the week is out.

 These birds, by the way, are remarkably smart! Have you seen AJ ?
