New cage

Question
I have a three year old male cockatiel.  Ive heard that many tiels have problems adjusting to new things, and mine is not exception.  It takes him a long time to warm up to anything new, toys, people, even food dishes.  

Im going to have to get a new cage for my cockatiel soon, and Im worried about him being afraid of his new home.  How can I make this transition as easy as possible for both me and my bird?

This is normal in cockatiels, what you can do is to get the new cage and leave the door/doors open and let him explore it on his own while hes out of his current cage, put some of his faverote food and his faverote toys in it, he should soon be going inside, after hes used to it you can put him in it.
