My Quaker Parrot is injured

Question
I have recently took my quaker parrot out for a walk and I stopped by to visit a friend's house, I hung there for about 30 minutes, and at the last moment, my parrot went to go drink some water and my friend's dog attacked my bird, scared to death as he is, I saw him fluffing up and flapping his wings, I found out his wings are in good condition and is still ok, But when I looked at his leg (Left), I saw him gripping extremely weakly at my index figner when he got on, I also see him leaning to the oposite side, is this a minor leg injury or a broken leg? I have put my bird back into the cage and he is lying down resting with his head stuck out of his "Bird's Nest" I recently purchased.

Answer
Did the dog break the skin on your bird anywhere? If so, there's a threat of bacterial infection that needs to be seen quickly and addressed with proper antibiotic treatment by your bird's vet.
Even if there's no skin breakage, the possibility of a broken leg also needs to be looked into by the vet because depending on how it's broken and where, it may get worse.  Early treatment, no matter what it is, is often the most successful and least expensive overall.  When complications happen, the cost of treating goes way up and the chances of success tend to drop.

If you can put a call into your vet tonight for advice based on what you describe it might be a really good idea.
No matter what, take your companion in to be seen by tomorrow.

Good luck and keep being such a good friend to him. It shows that you care!
