Question
I haven't seen any eggs yet, she is only allowed in the kitchen so shouldn't be any hidden eggs. How long should I expect her to behave this way...with being nasty?  Is it typically a week or two or three??? Or after she lays eggs...? Any idea?

Thanks again

-----Question-----
We have a tame peach face who is around 1 year. She has been sweet as pie mostly to me and son and tolerates all the others in the home. I assume she is female because of the behaviors that she exhibits by shredding paper and tucking, lower stance, etc. Starting at the beginning of this week she has turned nasty to everyone and is really bad especially with my two daughters - will fly to where they are sitting and attack their fingers biting hard, breaking the skin and not letting go. For me she is not as bad, but when I attempt to put her back in her cage she clamps on the my finger-hard and doesn't let go. We have always used the step-up,down. I have done some research and it sounds like maybe this is a hormone thing but I have been unable to find out how long this is to last. Any clue that you could enlighten me with.
Thanks much.
-----Answer-----
Perhaps she has laid an egg or  more somwhere around the house this would be why she doesnt want to go into the cage. Also hens that are getting ready to lay eggs will turn nasty and bitey keep an eye out for eggs in the cage.

Answer
I dont think hens ever really get as nice as they wer once the hormones kick in...just as a male parrot will always  hump his perches/toys/your hair/your hands after his hormones kick in...theres no going back after I have noticed with cockatiels and budgies how much they change after they are mature even the best handfed cockatiel gets nasty.
