degu ill :(

3 days ago i got 2 male degus, today i noticed a huge lump to one side of one of their necks and it was red and painful (i thnik) hes acting normal though, i wil see  a vet but cant for 2 days! it is so big it looks like he's swallowed a golf ball (not quite that big) theyre only very young not even fuly grown! What do you think could be wrong i never saw it before it grew unbeilivably fast, could it be cancer if so is there any hope??? Thank you!!

Hi there, Its more likely to be an abcess than cancer. An abcess can happen from a cut that gets infected, it fills with pus and needs to be drained by a vet and antibiotics will be needed as the infection can make them quite ill. Since it came on very fast and they are young I think its unlikely to be cancer. Fingers crossed its nothing serious but the sooner you get to a vet the better. Good luck
