she said to hold her by her "scruff" then put it in her mouth but i tried and i
didn't find any scruff i could pick her up by
im worried because i need to give her the medicine is there any other ways u
know of?

Answer
I apologize if my answer seems a bit jumbled, I have the flu so its difficult for me to think straight.

Firstly don't panic, you may need four hands instead of two until you get the hang of it.

The scruff if the skin between the shoulder blades and the base of the head (her neck). Don't worry about hurting her, this is the way mother mice carry their young - and they use teeth. Use you thumb and forefinger to gently pinch the skin. She may squirm a bit at first but she will usually clam down. This is also the technique used to look at their teeth. Her head should be pointed up and her legs spread apart. Her mouth will be slightly open and using your other hand (or a person) use the syringe to giver her the medicine drop by drop. She may squirm again at this point and you may need to reposition your grip.

This will take some practice but both you and her will get used to it. It is also the most reliable way for you to make sure she gets her medicine. If you are still unsure ask the vet to show you.

Other methods are adding it to her water bottle or putting it in one of her favorite foods. You could also ask the vet if it comes in flavors you mouse might like. You may need to change the medicine you have now so run this past your vet first.

I hope she gets better soon, please feel free to ask any more questions.
