Question
Hi natasha,

Okay..update. sybelle is definately itchy, she has managed to give herself a bald/ scabbed over patch during the night behind her ear. Baby definately has a sneeze now but it still sounds like a dry sneeze to me.
I noticed yesterday that they both are sleeping in a nesting box i have above ground but inside I have a strip of fleece blanket i put in there which they've been sleeping in. I'm not sure if it was cleaned or not before I put it in there, my mother gave it to me to use.   Is there any home treatment I could make up if it's mites, or anything I can do or give sybelle to make her less itchy if she is? They were not itching when I bought them and..I thought to get mites it had to be introduced or them over stressed..i'm not sure i've over stressed them lol

Answer
Dear Lauren,

There are instructions about mite treatment at the link I gave you:

http://en.allexperts.com/q/Mice-3824/2010/3/Itchy-Mouse-treating-mites.htm

If it doesn't come up as a link, cut and paste it into your browser.

Mites can occur really at any time. Anything could have stressed her.

I am not sure what question you have that isn't answered in our previous conversation:

http://en.allexperts.com/q/Mice-3824/2012/4/mouse-looks-itchy.htm

Unless you are looking for something even easier than the mite spray. Nope, there isn't. It costs about $8.00.

Either wait until there is no improvement after the mite spray before trying the hypoallergenic allergy treatment I described; or do that first and again wait three days for improvement before treating for mites. Even a little improvement is enough to keep trying either method for another two days.

If the sneezing does not stop after allergy treatment, you will need to give her antibiotics. Buy Tetracycline meant for fish. I have instructions in the following post:

Once you have tried all of these solutions, let me know what happens. Best of luck.

Squeaks,

Natasha
