losing fur on nose

we bought two mice about 4 months ago.  but just recently one of them has lost all the fur around his nose.  no where else except his nose.  he is eating and running around as usual.  can you advise me regarding this.  regards

Dear Sarah,

The most likely cause of any fur loss or skin irritation is mites.  A vet can examine a skin specimen under the microscope to find out if this is the problem or if it is a fungal or other problem.
