Safe Wood for Mice!

Question
Hi there, I am wanting to put some tree branches in for my mice to climb on, chew, etc... I have trees in my back yard that I know have no pesticide or anything on them but cannot find anywhere if they are safe woods for mice! One is a sweet gum tree and the other is a fejoa or pineapple guava tree! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Answer
Hi Kerryn,

I had never heard of that tree so I had to research it. There is definitely no evidence for toxicity to humans or rats and mice.

Also the fruit sounds exquisitely delicious!!  Would you send me some?
