Mouse babies murdered!

Hi ummm...... ok well i have 4 mice in a cage and one of them got pregnant and she had her babies just recently and i found blood all over the cage and thier was one baby mouse left and its head was busted and another one left with its head bit off and i was wondering if it is a problem to have 4 in one cage with babies and if it was the mom who ate them or the others??

I'm so sorry to hear about your tragedy.

The mother mouse will kill her babies either if she thinks there is something wrong with them or she feels they are in danger.  A first-time mother just gets confused sometimes.  It is less likely that another mouse killed them, because they would have had to fight with the mother to do so.  If you have a choice, I wouldn't suggest breeding this mouse again.  If you do, just let her keep one girlfriend with her in the nest.
