female mouse pink object from rear-birth?

I just bought my first 2 mice for pets 6 days ago. I bought a male and female to get one litter. Today I picked up my female and she looked like she was trying to give birth.Is this possible? Now hours have passed and the pink object that is partly sticking out of her backside is still there with no change. Her breathing seems huffy if that makes sense. What are your thoughts?

It doesn't sound good.  If she isn't quite fat, she probably isn't pregnant.  Fat would be like twice the size of the male.  Even if she is pregnant, she is in trouble.  If she isn't, it could be a hemorrhoid.  

She definitely needs to go to a vet, and probably quickly.  Call around until you find one who does either small pets or exotic pets.  You may be able to get advice on the phone, if the vet thinks they know what it is, but it might be quite serious.  Expect the same vet bill as a cat or dog.
