Question
QUESTION: Hello natasha

i put my pregnant mice together the albino and non-tan when i woke up today my mouse is already dead and her tail has been eaten by my albino then i remove non-tan and make some grave yard for her :( Will my pregnant albino be alright? cause she always sleep and i put scrambled egg but she didn't eat it or it was just one of signs of being pregnant?

Thanks for always answering my question

ANSWER: Dear Divine,

I am so sorry. Poor little thing, I wonder why? Just so you know, the tail eating comes from the instinct to eat a dead body to keep it from rotting, making her sick, or drawing predators.

I don't know how the other girl will be, besides lonely. Because we don't know what the other mouse died of, we don't know if it is contagious. But my guess is it was something like a heart attack, which means it won't happen to the albino.

I don't know if you have other girls who are already friends with her? If so, they should be together. But unfortunately, although the mom would be happy to have another mouse help her out, when she is pregnant, the stress of meeting a new mouse would be bad for her.

Make sure she gets the attention she wants. If she likes to be held and cuddled, do so a lot. Of course once the babies are born, she will not be lonely!

I wish her the best of luck.

Squeaks,

Natasha

QUESTION: Yes i have one and it was lizzy so it was okey to pet them together? also one thing if the babies get born and they were old enough to be seperate is it okey to pet the baby male mice with my old male mice in same cage??

Answer
Dear Divine,

Yes, put her back with her girlfriend. They will raise the babies together.

Adult male mice almost always fight, and they will kill each other. If they have been separated from their father they will probably never get along with him. Brothers who have never been separated sometimes get along. But for the most part, male pet mice have to live alone. They also need a lot of love and attention because they live alone.

So you are probably going to have to find homes for the boys, unless you want to end up with a half dozen cages or more. But they won't fight immediately after weaning, so you have a few weeks. Still, rehoming mice might be harder than you think.

Have fun with the babies : ))

and again, sorry about the other girl.
