my crab

Question
My crab is acting very wierd. He is VERY active and comes almost all the way
out of his shell and then spreds his body and will turn over like he is standing
on his head. I have had he and another for 3 years. There are bigger shells
but I'm wondering if not enough, right now about 4 but some seem a bit
heavy to me.
The temp and humidity is good but the substrate I have may be less than
ideal, they have successfully molted twice in the conditions they presently
live. There are only two crabs in a 10 gallon tank.
Can you give me any advice? I would so appreciate it. I am quite fond of them.

Answer
It sounds like your crab might be irritated by something (not mad lol). What kind of substrate do you have? Is it gravel? Sometimes the rockes get stuck in their shells and they do weird things. Do you give your crab baths? You might try giving it a ocean salt water bath and watch the surface of the water for tiny bugs.

Come back and tell me what you find and we'll go from there.
