Question
hi im new to raising crabs and have just found what i thought was a dead crab.. after catching a glimpse at what appeared to be another claw underneath the dead bit i wondered whether it was shedding(at this stage i had no idea they did this) and unfortunately i gave it a hand to remove the skin :/ i put it back in the tank then came to research online and found that i did bad.. i put the skin underneath the crab and left it in the tank. i then saw something about cannabalism during molting and kind of freaked. will my other crab hurt the crab thats molting? also my crab didnt bury itself with the molting but i only have the little stones in the tank so maybe it couldnt?

Answer
You are correct, if you have gravel it will not bury itself. I recommend in this situation taking a 2-liter bottle and cutting the bottom off and taking the cap off. Push it down around the molting crab. leave a cap full of fresh water and salt water in there with him but that should keep him safe from the other crabs.
