Can my crab still live without his big claw???

My crab just recently just lost his big claw. I don't know if he can still live without it. Ever since I got my hermit crab, he has been the one to ALWAYS be crawling around and being active. Now he lost his biggest claw and he hasn't been active or has been crawling. Will he still live?

He has a great chance of living...if you change the habitat conditions. There must be something wrong eith it for him to lose a claw over it. How big is the tank, how many hermits do you have, what is your temperature, what is you humidity, what kind of substrate do you use? get back to me with this info and i will tell you what you can change.
