Will my Hermie be ok?

Hi I have owned 5 crabs so far (I am only 13)and one of my crabs molted, I did noot now that he had molted and that he had died, but just to make sure he was not dead i left him there to make sure. The next day I saw his body there than I decided to bury him. I looked in the shell and saw a claw ( I thought it had a baby) So i buried the body and left the shell. Than I recently discoverd it actually molted! I also heard they eat what they molted out of and I threw it buried it on accident. Will my hermie be ok even if i threw out what he was supposed to eat??

Hi Ariel!

That is a mistake that sometimes happens. I would recommend getting your crab a cuttlebone (if you don't have one or can't get one you could hard boil an egg, give him some of the yolk and some eggshell. Also make sure he gets something with a lot of protein like shrimp with the tails on or unseasoned chicken or turkey.

Just keep an eye on him and he should be okay.
