QuestionHi you're site has been really helpful, but i think my hermit crab is molting and I started noticing this fuzzy white almost hair looking stuff on his shell and around him. Do you know what it is?
AnswerIs it fuzzy and looks like little hairs or like cotton. Is it appearing where there was none before? If so it is mold. Could the crab have gotten food stuck to its shell? If it is mold you need to get rid of as much of it as you can. Mist with salt water and scrub his shellw with a toothbrush and salt water. Mold can be harmful to crabs.
