aggressive behavior

Question
I had my guinea pig Twinky for about 2 months now. I'm not quite sure how hold he is but from what the vet told me he's around 6 months old. For the last week Twinky seem to be developing aggressive behavior. Almost everytime my hand comes close to his right side he quickly gives me a quick bite to fend me off. Well it not really a bite i guess, more like a very gently nibble as if he giving me more of a warning then an attack. Do you have any idea why he might be doing this? Could it be that he have some kind of injury there and is trying to stop me from touching it? Or is he just becoming more aggressive?

Answer
Hello Christine,

I advise a vet visit. A change in behavior, especially when they begin exhibiting aggressiveness, is usually a sign of illness or injury. It's possible he's just maturing and becoming more aggressive because of hormones, but it's important to rule out illness before deciding this is the case. Good luck.
