mom/dad/baby

I thought I had mom and daughter but turns out I have mom and son. They had a baby, I don't want more but feel bad seporating mom and dad or son what should I do? How long can they live as a family, since the dad seems to love baby...

Cavy boars are wonderful parents and you are right, they love their babies. That being said, you've already found out what happens when you leave them together. If your new baby is a sow he can breed her as young as 2-3 weeks of age.

My recommendation is to get the dad in his own cage and if you want mom to have company, just make sure the baby she's living with is a girl.
