Pregnant gerbils

I think my gerbils may be pregnant though I am not sure of yet.  If they are this wasn't meant to happen at all!  I came home and found a male gerbil in with my two females by accident.  Assuming he has made them both pregnant which is very likely, will the two females need a cage to themselves near the time of birth or will they be ok together in the same cage? Is there any chance that they won't be pregnant even if the male has mated with them? I don't want babies, it was all a big accident.

Was the male only in with them for a short while?
Female gerbils can only become pregnant once every 4-6days, so if he was only in for a few hours you may be ok, although it is still possible!

Yes, they should be fine in the same cage, and you will probably find both females would help look after each others babies too!!
