pregnant hampster

I got 2 hampsters and I believe that the female is pregnant because I caught the two of them in the act. I was just curious if the two of them need to be seperated with the mom with the babies and the male somewhere else.Also I was also wondering how long she will be pregnant for.  Thank you

The two should certainly be seperated so she can have some privacy. Put some tissue paper in the cage and allow her to build a nest. You don't want the male around the babies because he may eat them. Your hamster will stay pregnant for about 19-22 days. When the pups are born don't clean out the cage for 2 weeks because the mother will be very protective of her.
