swollen finger

i just noticed my hamster has a swollen finger. it looks a little red but it is not bleeding. can you offer any suggestions on what to do or what may be happening ?

It sounds like your hamster may have bruised it or injured his finger. Sometimes they can do that when they are on the wheel. I'd keep a close eye on the finger. The red swelling is going to be normal, but if it turns to any other color, I'd take your hamster to a vet. I'd take the wheel out until the finger starts looking better though.
