hamster treat

i need to know wt the best treat is for training my hamster he is little jumpy and wont come to me

Hi Joe,

Hamsters love treats such as sunflower seeds, or plain Cheerios.  (Since sunflower seeds are fatty, give your hamster only one per day.)  Place the treat in the palm of your hand, and lay your hand down in the cage.  Wait for your hamster to approach your hand, then gently scoop him up with both hands.

Since hamsters are rather jumpy sometimes, don't try to hold him still.  Rather, let him run from hand to hand.  And, sit on the floor while you're handling him.  Nervous hamsters may jump, and if he jumps while you're sitting on the floor, he won't have far to fall.
