Please write back soon i need DESPERATE help , Thank You
AnswerHi
I would avoid giving them loads of cucumber as this can cause diarrhoea. The best thing to feed them is baby food. If you buy a packet of the powdered variety (I find the creamy porridge oats is a real favorite) then mix a little with water - mum and the babies can have this and this will give them extra nutrients. In addition they need a standard dry hamster mix that contains nuts, seeds, dry biscuits etc. Also give a small amount of vegetables but avoid lettuce as this can cause diarrhoea. Egg and cheese are OK but in very small portions, perhaps once a week.
Make sure the babies can reach the water bottle. I'm assuming that Dad is not in with the litter - he should be on his own. At 4 weeks you must sex and separate out the boys. The boys can stay together for a further 2 weeks at which time all the litter will need a cage of their own otherwise they will fight.
I hope this helps.
