Bedding and Washing

Question
Before this i bought a pack of corn corbs pallets and it doesn't feel pleasant for the hamster to walk on and they can't dig. Now i bought another pack of CHIPSI classic bedding and i mix it with the corn corbs pallet to make it diggable. Is CHIPSI classic bedding good? it doesn't state what soft wood it is made of and i wonder is it okay if i use that. I usually wash the hamster casing once a week. Can i use bath soap to wash it? will the chemical be dangerous to the hamster?

Hmmm.. CHIPSI classic bedding is made from fir and spruce trees and I haven't seen anything bad about fir or spruce trees used as animal bedding, so I think you're fine. If you wash out the cage with soapy water just make sure to get all of the soap residue off the cage. I've used soap on my hamster's cage before with no ill effects, but i made sure that there was no soap residue and it was clean as can be.
