Question
My hamster, cocoa,is going soon because i am moving house and she cannot come i might keep her but i want to know if they can travel far distances in a car?

Answer
Dear Charlotte,
thank you for your question.
Cocoa will probably not enjoy it, but it's possible to take her with you on such a trip. It's not something you should do often, but if you move and want to take her with you, then it can be done.
Make sure that she stays warm/cool enough, depending on the weather. Cars can heat up quickly and if the sun shines on her cage for a long time, the hamster may overheat. If you don't have air conditioning in your car, the best place for the cage would be in the footwell are behind the driver's seat. Don't put her in the trunk.
If you can't offer her water in a bottle, a big piece of cucumber works well and she should also have plenty to eat and some of her used bedding, I'd take the whole nest if possible. A cardboard box can be used as a hiding place or a big pile of hay, a house or any other toys may move during the drive and pin the hamster or even hurt her.
I hope I was of some help to you
