My new ferret escaped

Question
Hello...i am new to the ferret world as i just took one in from a family member who could no longer care for him. Tutter (the ferret) must have pushed my door open while i let him play in the house and got out we searched for him ALL last night and all today and just found him underneath my house.Hes ALL shook up shaky and weak. I dont know what to do. We put him in his cage to let him rest and sleep. I am just worried that he may be sick as he was out all night and it stormed. Any info will be helpful.

I am glad you found him. Ferrets are notorious escape artists. Just keep him warm and dry, and watch him. Make sure he has a blanket, or a towel to curl up in. If he is eating and drinking,and going to the bathroom, then he should be OK. He may have a couple of diarrhea stools due to the stress. But I would have a vet check him in the near future, to make sure. If he is not eating/drinking, or if you notice a cough, wheezing, lethargic, etc.or if the diarrhea lasts longer that 24 hours, then take him to the vet ASAP.
