Question
I have a 3 year old male ferret. He lives in a ferret cage with 3 removable levels and I attached a small to it so he has a little play room. He has a pretty good life with me, but I was wondering how I can make it more fun for him. He has a lot of teddy bears but not many toys because they're kind of expensive. If you have any ideas on ferret games and toys that ferrets enjoy that would be great.

Answer
There are a lot of cheap and easy ways to entertain a ferret. Towel rides (place a ferret on the end of a towel while you hold the other end and run while dragging the towel and ferret) I haven't met a ferret yet that doesn't love a towel ride.

PVC pipes making a "ferret maze" with several air holes throughout is always a big hit.

Cheap cat balls (the plastic one's with the bells inside)

Cat teaser toys like a flirt pole (A long stick with something they love attached to the end that you fling around and they chase)

Baby keys, linking rings

A bunch of cardboard boxes attaches to make towers or tunnels

Take a toilet paper roll close one end insert a treat in the other and close it as well and watch the ferret try to get the treat out.

A dig box which is a plastic storage container filled with non instant long grain white rice or cornstarch packing peanuts cut a hole in the lid and let the ferret find his way inside.

Plastic easter eggs with rice inside and then the egg glued together create a noisy but fun toy.

An old sock with a few plastic grocery bags inside (tie the sock end) make a fun crinkle toy

A big bin of non fertilized potting soil is messy but ferrets love nothing more than digging in dirt

Those a few things my ferrets have enjoyed over the years
