Question
I have a cute sweet little dog, that someone dropped off. She is smart except, when I take her for a walk on the leash, she will not use the bathroom, if I let her go with out a leash, she is happy, but she like to run around and explore the neighborhood. She always comes home soon, except she got picked up by the dog catcher one day, so I tried and tried to walk her on the leash, and she would not do anything, so if my husband and I take a nap, she sneaks around and wets, and she hasn't used the bathroom in two days. How do I teach her to go on the leash?

Answer
The most efficient way to teach her is a combination of crate training and my housebreaking schedule.  Here are links to both of these subjects:

Chances are she has eliminated in the last 2 days-you just haven't found it yet.  Make sure she is NOT out of your sight until she is consistent in her housebreaking.  For now, keep her on a leash and with you so she cannot sneak off and eliminate in the house.

Keep persevering and you will succeed.
