help, bringing a pom to apartment

Hi I am bringing a Pom that is between the age of 6 months to maybe a year old.  She has been used to a doggy door.  No collar, no leash, how do I get her outside to potty?

Hello Vada,

Dogs are wonderfully flexible creatures. The doggy door is in the past. Your dog lives in the present.

When you get your puppy home, put a collar on her. At regular intervals, put her on a leash and take her outside to potty. You can expect she'll need to go after naps and after meals. When you take her outside, tell her to "Get Busy". When she goes, praise her. Inside the house, watch her closely and do not let her have accidents. If she goes to the door, starts sniffing or gives any signs of needing to potty, take her out to her spot. Gradually introduce a dependable schedule so that she knows she will go out at certain dependable times without fail.

That should do it.
