Puppy jump on people

Question
Hi,I've got a 7 months old toy poodle puppy.

She loves to jump on people, not only greeting them but allt the time !!! No matter what people are doing(I mean guest, not family members), she just keep jumping on them and try to lick their faces if possible. This behaviour annoys my friends and I really want to stop it. I tried many ways on the internet but all fails. The main problem is that she keep having positive reward when jumping on people on the street. Becuase of her cute puppy face, people on the street just playing with her when she jumps on them and makes this problem worse. Please teach me what to do, thank you.

Answer
This is a very normal behavior. (Almost every puppy I get in class needs to learn not to jump). And it sure isn't helped by the people who say "oh, it's okay, I don't mind. In those situations, I simply wouldn't allow her close enough to jump on them, or if she likes it, pick her up for petting. Puppies jump because they want attention, and want to be close to your face. The best fixes are: 1) teach a very solid "sit" on cue behavior. She can't be jumping on folks and sitting at the same time. And 2) get some friends who can follow simple directions- or a puppy class instructor. With the pup on a leash (you are not going to pull back on the leash or go with her) the "bait" approaches. If she jumps up, they sigh dramatically, throw hands up in the air and walk away as if offended. then they come back and try again. By the third or fourth time, she will probably try something else - like sitting or standing with all four feet on the ground. At this point the "bait" can give her a treat and some petting - but if at any point she jumps up, they again walk dramatically away. Most pups pick that up very quickly.
