Going potty in the house

Question
I have a four and a half year old Boston Terrier, Charlie. I have had him since he was 4 month old. In the past 5 months I have started staying with my boyfriend for the majority of the week for a few reasons. One of the biggest is that he lives in a large house and has two Huskies that Charlie gets along well with, and I currently rent a very small place. Also, he has gotten very familiar with this house over the last three years. For some reason Charlie has one spot in the house that he goes to do his business when I am not there, and once when I was sleeping. He is let out regularly, but it generally happens when someone is home. We have started putting him in his kennel when we are not there, but since it usually happens when my boyfriend or hit roommate is there, I am unsure what to do.

Answer
Hello Gillian,

It could be numerous reasons that Charlie is doing this.

My best guess would be that you are not properly cleaning Charlie's "spot" and the scent is triggering repeat accidents.

Purchase a pet specific odor remover from a pet store and diligently clean Charlie's spot. This may cure the problem.

Good Luck!
Sandy
