Question
I just brought home 2 4 year old yorkies. They are sisters and have always been together. They have not been house broken only pad trained. Please tell me how to train older dogs to go outside to potty. Also, they have not been leash trained.  HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answer
Tammy, as stated on the page where you composed your question, you need to go to http://housetraining.angelfire.com and read the information there in regards to your first question.

As for the 2nd question, it should be relatively easy to leash train them. Just start by letting them drag a leash around the house while you're there, so they can get used to it being there, and then start holding onto it and following them around, so they get used to that. when they are ok with that, you can start restricting their movement just a little bit by simply standing still with treats in your hand at the ready. When they look at you, praise them and encourage them to come towards you as you back away from them. Give them a treat or two when they reach you. Repeat. This teaches them not to pull on the leash. I would suggest that you enroll with them in a basic or beginner's obedience class as well. Avoid classes in pet stores, though, because often the instructors are not very experienced, and the environment in a pet store is much too distracting.
