QuestionHi Kim, Thanks in advance for your time. We recently aquired a Border Terrier type dog (he was a stray). He's a good little hound my guess is about 2 or 3 years old. He stays in our fenced back yards but is always begging to be let out. I wouldn't mind letting him run outside the yard other than we live on a state highway and if he tries to cross it will be certain death. There is 200 acres he can play behind the house but I have had to run him down several times headed for the highway. He hates the leash as much a the yard. So, is there any other practical solution to this. How could I teach him to never to go towards the road?
AnswerHello, Mitch! The first solution that comes to mind is an invisible, wireless fence like these - http://www.discount-pet-superstore.com/outdoor/electric_dog_fences.htm . If a regular fenced border is not an option, these electronic fences can certainly help to keep your furry friend in where you want him. Good luck!
