Question
Hi, im Brandi. And i own a 3 year old stafford shire. (little pitbull). She is a very cuddly dog. She will follow me around the house all the time and she has slept in my bed alot of times. when im awake i will let her up on my bed and sleep with me. Recently she has been peeing in my bed out of no where. The first time i was sleeping and she was laying rite next to me. the next morning i found a half dried big pee stain on my sheet. The second time we were on the couch and she was laying on me and peed on me! The third time we were laying in my bed and see went pee right there and then next to me in the middle of the day. I let her out plenty of times a day. She was so good at going out side for at least 2 years and now in the last 2 weeks shes went on my bed when im next to her and even awake! I dont know why she would do that. This is very unlike her. I was wondering if you might know why shes doing this or maybe have sum suggestion to what i should do. Thanks

Answer
If she is spayed, it could be that she is suffering from spay incontinence.  There are inexpensive medications that can help if that's the problem.  Dogs that have that are likeliest to pee in their sleep, or when relaxed, because the sphincter muscle that is supposed to contain the urine is weak.
If that isn't the case, then she should probably be tested for a urinary tract infection to rule it out.  So, the first thing to do is make an appointment with the vet.
