Litter Training

Question
I am moving cross-country from a house into an apartment.  My dog is 7 mos. old and I am concerned about the lack of area I will have for her to go potty.  I am considering littler training and want to know if a regular littler box like for cats will work or if I should purchase something like what is at ugodog.com

Answer
Unless you are in a high rise, toileting in the city is possible - there are grassy patches or you can train her to curb.  If you feel that you can't manage that, then litter training is possible.  You can use pads, a litter box, or a "wizdog" or other device.  The issue isn't so much what kind of box or potty to use, it's in the training necessary to convince the dog that it's now ok to pee "in the house".  Personally, I'd try to find an outdoor spot, and use bags, but it is possible to do the litter training.  My preference would be for the wizdog, because it saves the floor, and the dog can't mess it up.
