dog obsessions

hello, i have a four year old long hair dachshund and all his life he has had an obsession with lickng the floor. he never stops no matter what we do, we put bitter apple on the floor but he still continues to lick it. If you could help me with this problem that would be great. I appreciate your help.

Hi Emily,
Dogs do get bad habits, like licking their paws, etc. Kinda like us biting nails, twitchy hair, nervous habits I call them.
Try and tire the dog out with exercise and see if this helps some.  It will be hard to break as any bad habit is.
Get a RAW beef soup bone from grocery store and let it chew on this as a great treat.  Maybe this and exercise harder than usual will help to forget this. The bones are good for the teeth too.  Never give a cooked bone of any kind!.
