eye condition

Question
Shadow is a Cocker Spaniel.  One of his eyes is red and a little puffy.  What should I do? Discover it late this morning, he was fine last night and this morning when we went walking.  Can you please advise ....help - anything that I can do for him.

Hi Susan,  You should get him into a vet.  There could be several things wrong.  He could have something in the eye like a foxtail, or he could have developed an entropian which is where the third eyelid turns in on itself and becomse swollen and irritates the eyeball.  This is very common in Cockers.  Hope this helps,
