pug breeding-male stud

Hi Dawn,
I've have a pug stud and I am wondering why he's not interested in performing with the same female for the 2nd time. Their first litter was yielded 7 puppies, and he had no problem, that was May 05'.
This is the 2nd time and day 2 with no action. Do they only want the female once?

Hi Monica,  You need to take him away from her for a couple of days.  Out of sight, out of mind type thing, and then reintroduce them together.  Sometimes that's all it takes to get them interested again.  Some dogs just lose intertest if the dog is with them 24/7, especially if they try constantly to breed.  They just plain ole get tired and then they stop trying.  Give him a break from her and then try again.  Good Luck,
