Green stuff in my dogs mouth?

Question
Hi, The last couple of days I have noticed a green substance in my dogs mouth.  He is a 7 month old german sheppard/ Rott mix, named Scrappy Doo.  I also have a 2 1/2 year old red nosed pitt bull, named Keila, but she doesn't have any of the green stuff.  At first I thought it was just something he ate, he has a really bad obsession with eating anything he can. Rocks, glass, dirt, clothes, anything! But after a day or so it was coming out of his mouth in his drool, so I looked in his mouth and there is some green stuff at the base of his jaw around his teeth.  Could this be plaque or something worse?  His demeaner has not changed at all, he is still a playful pup
Any info would be helpful.
Thank you!

Answer
Thanks for your question.  Yes it could be plaque.  That can be solved by going to your local petstore and getting a tooth brush and paste.  Your groomer will also do this for you with will help alot.  But beings that he is so young I wouldnt think that that would be the case. My dogs mouth turns green when he eats alot of grass.  They do this if there stomach is upset to help them throw up.  It is perfectly safe.  However if you notice that he is not eating grass and it just keeps oozing out then call your vet to make sure that its not a liver infection.  That is very rare with a dog so young but you never know.  I would just watch and see if you notice him eating grass.  If you do look in his mouth after and see if that is what you are seeing.  Hope this helps mail me back and let me know.
