Question
"Good Morning,
 I have a 4 year old female black lab that is 98 pounds. what is the
normal weight for this dog and how do I go about trimming her down. she
eats about 2.5 cups of weight management food a day. some table craps
but not much from time to time. Any Ideas. Thanks"

Hi Keith;
I am not sure what your Lab should weigh but, a good way to check for overweight is to run your hands along her sides. You should be able to FEEL the ribs, but you should NOT be able to SEE the ribs just looking at her.
The best guage for the right amount to feed is by label on the back or side of the dog food package.
There is a grey area asbout the wight because of muscle mass.
If your dog gets a lot of exercise, and has a lot of muscle she is going to carry a little more poundage without being overweight.
Go to this site and take the test there to check the weight.
