I have 3 Aussies 1 is daddy he is 4, the other two are his sons, the daddy is always protecting one of the sons and the other son is always being growled at or sometimes even have fights and the one that is being protected by daddy is always trying to help daddy sometimes fight. this is very irritating and very stressful, they have always got along and now that they are 3 and daddy is 4, it seems they are getting worse,I need to know what steps I could take to help them get along or what training can I take to help them. thank-you hope you can help?

Answer
As dogs mature, it is quite common for ones of the same sex to challenge each other for pack leader.  The one that is always being growled at is likely challenging daddy for leadership and trying to put the other one in its place.  One important thing is for you to give them good leadership.  They need to be competing for secon place with you firmly established as #1.  The key to most behavior problems is approaching things using the dog's natural instincts. Dogs see all the people and dogs in the household as a pack with each having their own rank in the pack and a top dog. Life is much easier if the 2 legged pack members outrank the 4 legged ones. You can learn to play the role of top dog by reading some books or going to a good obedience class. A good obedience class or book is about you being top dog, not about rewarding standard commands with a treat. Neutering all three would make a big difference too.  You may or may not be able to keep peace without it.
