Jealous Dog

Starbucks is a female lab shar-pei mix. She is 1 year and 3 months. I had adopted a cat, but took him back to the shelter because she was going after him every time he got close to me. I was afraid she would hurt him... or worse possibly kill him. I would like to get a puppy or young dog, but am afraid she would hurt it whenever it got close to me. What should I do? Should I get a new puppy or young dog to add to our family or not?

Answer
I would resolve Starbucks behavior problems before I considered adding another pet. It's not fair to either animal, the one coming in or Starbucks to expect her to know what you want with out showing her.
