Question
My 3 year old wheaten terrier has been vomiting for three days after eating our christmas tree and grass.  He ate last night and managed to keep it down, and has not vomited today but now won't eat.  He is very weak and lethargic.  The last time he had a vomiting bout, we took him to the vet who prescribed anti-vomit medicine and flagyll.  We have the meds, but are afraid to give to him on an empty stomach.  Also, can we give him 1/2 iboprofen? On empty stomach?

Answer
Hayley-

Give him the antinausea medication, its designed for an empty and turbulent stomach. Once he stops vomiting and is keeping water and things down, I recomend wrapping the flagyl in a peice of bread and giving it to him to soak up some of the stomach acid. If you have any further questions, I'd suggest calling your vet as he has seen and treated your dog and would have a better idea of the situation.

I hope he feels better!
