Dog fur - Allergic Reaction?

Question
Hello. I have no idea whom to ask about this, hoping you can help. I have been having this problem for the longest time where it feels like there are "very tiny fleas" all over me when i lay down to rest in bed. I have tried sooooooooo many things in the elimination of these "fleas", and turns out...maybe it's an allergic reaction to the dog hairs. I would like to continue further, but i might be wasting my time. Can you tell all of the symptoms of allergic reactions to the skin from dog hairs? If not, can you provide a website address that can tell me everything i need to know about this? Thanks.

Answer
Hi Abbey,

Most people who are allergic to dogs have a histamine response that produces swelling and irritation of the upper airways that causes hay fever and asthmatic symptoms: sniffling, runny nose, sneezing and coughing. Some people also develop red itchy skin, or a rash.

If you feel things walking on your skin, or have itching you may well have fleas, mites. If you're only feeling these symptoms when you lay down in bed, you might have bed bugs.

If you're in doubt, it's time for you to see a dermatologist.

Best of luck,
