American Cocker Howling

Hi, I have a 10year old American Cocker Spaniel who is getting more agressive over time. He used to live in the house but we got a Springer Spaniel about 2 years ago and have put both dogs in a kennell outside. He gets plenty of excercise and gets on well with the other dog but is howling regularly during the day and night. He is very loud and wakes us and the neighbors up at night. He has always done this but it has gotten out of control in the last year, to the point that we may have to get rid of him. We are desperate not to do this as we are very fond of him.
