gurgling air around lung area

Question
At first I thought it might just be my dog's stomach processing food, but the sounds seem more around the lung area.  It is just an intermittent like "gas bubble" releasing.  She is also constantly sticking her tongue out as if to lick but not licking anything.  Should I be concerned?  Mystic is a 12 yr. old Schipperke in good health.  Thank you in advance for your time.

Thank you for writing to me about your senior Schipperke.  I am assuming that this is a situation that just started?  I would be very concerned about what you have just described.  It sounds like your dog is in distress and that sound is very troubling.  Please call you vet for an emergency visit.  This could be a life threatening situation.  I don't mean to scare you but I also don't want you to wait too long and then something tragic happens.
